Famous for his experimental, adventurous and socially inuential films Manoj Verma is considered to be one of the greatest ambassadors of the Chhaittisgarhi cinema on the national and international level. Bhulan The Maze, directed by Manoj Verma is the first film in 67 years of history of Chhattisgarhi cinema to be awarded with National film award. Presented by former Vice President honourable Shri.Venkaiah Naiduji.
The then Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh felicitated Manoj Verma with the first "Kishore Sahu State Award" in the year 2018 for his valuable contribution to Chhattisgarhi cinema. He was given grant of Rs. 1 crore for Bhulan The Maze under Chhattisgarh Film Policy by the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Shri Bhupesh Baghel who after watching the film with his cabinet, declared it Tax free. Movie was critically acclaimed all over with many hailing it to be sent as representative film to the Oscars. The journey of the making of Bhulan The Maze was not an easy one. Manoj put all his heart and soul into depicting the tribal world on the celluloid. He visited among these tribes as a village commoner for years to observe and understand them closely.
